Essential oils are an easy way to support our health and add a delicious sensuality to our daily lives. Essential oils are nature’s living energy in liquid form. They are naturally obtained from the volatile compounds found in shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, roots, resins and seeds of aromatic plants.
Essential oils are extracted from the living matter via the process of steam distillation or cold pressing, which ensures that the integrity of the therapeutic benefits of these compounds are not altered or compromised in any way during the manufacturing process.
Essential oils are highly concentrated and far more potent than dry herbs. For instance, 1 drop of peppermint essential oil is equal to 26 cups of peppermint tea! While essential oils often have a pleasant aroma, their chemical makeup is complex and their benefits vast—which makes them much more than simply something that fragrances our home.
Using essential oils in a therapeutic manner is SO much more than a “Glade upgrade.”
The antiseptic and bactericidal qualities of many essential oils and their value in fighting infection has been detailed extensively in both ancient and modern medical literature. Essential oils are being used more and more in hospitals worldwide.
Recent medical research has also shown that aromatherapy has a positive psychological impact as well. Several clinical studies involving both post-operative and chronically ill subjects showed that massage with essential oils can be helpful in improving emotional well-being, and consequently, promoting the recovery process.
